In the recent past, Chicago artist Eryn Allen Kane has had not insignificant leg-ups thanks to some seriously cool features on tracks by heavyweight artist's such as Prince and Chance the Rapper. She's making her own way now with an EP, called Aviary, coming before the end of 2015. New track, 'Slipping', reminds us of that superb first Lianne La Havas album, with Kane's vocal flitting between nought more than a tender whisper at one end of the spectrum, to powerhouse gospel choir leader at the other. It's a more stripped back followup to the divine, 'Have Mercy', but Kane really needs little more than a twanging acoustic to compliment that sparkling voice anyway.
